Disaster and Emergency Relief

The first 72 hours after earthquakes, floods and fires

Disaster and Emergency Relief

Food, blankets, hygiene packs and children's workshops in disaster zones; temporary classrooms to restart education.

Support with a free amount

Our Disaster and Emergency Relief work aims to deliver basic necessities to families hit by natural disasters within the first 72 hours and to get children back into education as soon as possible. The foundation keeps a standing stock of food and supplies ready in its Ankara and Gaziantep warehouses.

Response stages

  • First 72 hours: food parcels, water, blankets, hygiene packs and baby-care kits
  • First two weeks: children's workshops in tent and container cities and psychosocial support volunteers
  • First three months: restarting education with temporary classrooms, stationery sets and teacher support
  • Lasting recovery: joint projects with local authorities to repair damaged schools

Volunteer and donation coordination

During disasters the campaign budget is tracked in a separate account and spent only on those affected. When we accept in-kind gifts the needs list is published in advance; only listed items are taken, to avoid a pile-up of unneeded clothing and goods.

Since the 2023 earthquakes we have delivered emergency support to more than 24,000 families in 11 provinces and set up children's workshops in 9 container cities.

Scope of service
