Special Education Classrooms Sensory Material Set

Children with special needs take part in lessons far more when they have the right materials. Following lists sent by teachers, we are delivering sets of sensory learning materials to 12 special education classrooms.

What does a set include?

• Tactile cards, a weighted blanket and a sensory ball
• A light table and colour and shape matching materials
• Communication cards and a visual daily schedule board
• A teacher's guide and online training

One set costs about 12,500 TRY and the total target is 150,000 TRY. Specialist advice is sought when choosing schools, and the materials are handed over to the head teacher against a signed record.

Training and evaluation

Teachers receive the sets after a usage training. Three months later a short usage evaluation prepared by a special education specialist is carried out and the results are shared with donors.
